Fascial Stretch Therapy

FST is a form of table-based assisted stretching that focuses on the fascia and joint capsule to achieve optimal strength, flexibility, pain relief and performance. It is a pain-free method of stretching, typically performed on a massage table, that can provide almost instant results. Please come to your session wearing stretchy or loose fitting clothing as this style is received with clothes on.

Oncology Massage

Oncology Massage

Oncology massage makes adaptations for the side effects of treatment from chemotherapy, radiation, and surgeries. It is a gentle massage geared towards “comfort care.” This means the session will be customized to your unique situation. Some people come in exhausted and stressed while others come in with specific range-of-motion goals. Generally you can experience a greater sense of well-being, increased energy, less pain, more ease in movement and better sleep. Please note, this will not be a deep tissue massage! 

Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Manual Lymphatic Drainage, or MLD, encourages the natural drainage of the lymph. MLD is gentle, rhythmic and a deeply relaxing service. The lymphatic system can be thought of as the “garbage disposal system” of the body that clears out cellular debris (the body’s excess waste). By receiving MLD you can help your body clear out stagnant fluid to support your immune system, lessen inflammation and improve healing time from surgeries/injuries. It is also often used to help restore flow in cases of lymphedema (chronic swelling) which can result when lymph nodes are removed due to cancer treatment.

I do not accept insurance but am happy to provide you with a superbill. If you provide your insurance company with a superbill they typically reimburse you for a portion of the massage costs. To know ahead of time what your insurance will reimburse you, I recommend calling them and asking what they pay for “out of network massage benefits.” All methods of payment are accepted but there is no cash on premises for change.
Most massage and bodywork techniques are traditionally performed with the client unclothed; however, it is entirely up to you what you want to wear. You should undress to your level of comfort. You will be properly draped during the entire session.
We have many options when it comes to finding a comfortable position on the table! A breast bolster can be provided for a tender chest, post mastectomy or reconstruction client. Sidelying is always great option and extra pillows and support are provided to ensure comfort. In addition, the massage table is hydraulic and can be lowered so that it is easier to climb on to. Lastly, If laying flat when face up is uncomfortable, the back of the table also lifts up so that you can enjoy your massage in a semi-reclined position!
There are numerous types of massage and bodywork. Various techniques utilize different strokes including basic rubbing strokes, rocking movement, posture and movement re-education, application of pressure to specific points and more. We can discuss which methods may be most appropriate for you.
Prior to the massage, feel free to ask the practitioner any questions about the technique or the upcoming session. During the massage, make yourself comfortable. The practitioner will either gently move you or tell you what is needed throughout the session (such as lifting your arm). Many people just close their eyes and completely relax, communicating if/when they need more or less pressure, another blanket, or anything else relevant to the session. If you have any questions regarding the session or about the particular technique you are receiving, feel free to ask.
Massage and bodywork can help release chronic muscular tension and pain, improve circulation, increase joint flexibility, reduce mental and physical fatigue and stress, promote faster healing of injured muscular tissue, improve posture, and reduce blood pressure. Massage and bodywork is also known to promote better sleep, improve concentration, reduce anxiety and create an overall sense of well-being.
